AstralPool Mineral Guard is an effective secondary sanitising system designed to help lower chlorine demand while maintaining cleaner, clearer, healthier pool water. By combining natural mineral ions with advanced controlled release technology, it provides continuous support against bacteria and algae without the need for powered equipment or ongoing metal level testing.
The system uses AstralPool’s Nature2 technology, built around a specially engineered alumina core that gradually releases silver and copper ions into the passing water. Silver helps control bacteria as a long-trusted antimicrobial, while copper assists in preventing algae growth. Together, these minerals deliver reliable secondary sanitisation for up to six months per cartridge.
Unlike many mineral ionisers on the market, AstralPool Mineral Guard operates using water flow alone, with no separate power source required. Its patented Controlled Release Technology keeps mineral output below the staining threshold, removing the need for copper testing and helping prevent surface staining when used correctly. It also supports pool shell warranty protection by avoiding the excessive metal concentrations that can create problems with other systems.
Mineral Guard must always be paired with a primary sanitiser such as chlorine or a saltwater chlorinator. Australian standards recommend maintaining no less than 1ppm of chlorine. Once fitted, simply replace the cartridge every six months to continue enjoying balanced, healthier pool water.
